Liebherr will present two new crawler excavators in the 60- and 90-tonne categories at Bauma 2013, for demanding tasks in the mining and quarrying industries and for bulk earthmoving.
With a service weight of 90 tonnes, the R 976 is the successor to the popular R 974 C and is exhibited with a 5.1 m³ bottom-dump bucket. This excavator is powered by a 400 kW (544 hp) Liebherr V8 engine.
The R 960 SME, in the 60-tonne category, replaces the Super Mass
Excavation version of the R 954 C, and is exhibited in Munich with an HD
backhoe holding 3.25 m³. It develops tearout forces of up to 287 kN and
breakout forces of up to 346 kN. Its Liebherr inline 6-cylinder engine
has a rated output of 250 kW (340 hp).
