2011 Guangxi "SGMW" "Yuchai" Worker Skill Contest wrapped up

Bumper fruits in golden October. 2011 Guangxi "SGMW" "Yuchai" Worker Skill Contest was wrapped up on October 31. Yuchai achieved brilliant results in the contest. Zheng Tianshu, Yang Jian, Mo Hanzhong, Deng Yuanyun, Li Haifei, Zhong Yuejiang, Lu Yaogan, Lu You and Chen Xingyu made a sweep of the top nine places in the category of forklift workers, Liang Hua ranked 4th in the category of automotive welders, and Yuchai claimed the first place in the team category of forklift workers and the second place in the team category of automotive welders. On October 31, the organizer held an award ceremony in Yuchai's headquarters to commend the prizewinning contestants and units. Among attending leaders were Li Lanping, deputy chief of the Commission of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Yin Wenyue, deputy chief of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Li Tiansheng, vice chairman of Yuchai Group.

A total of 128 contestants from 11 delegations entered the finals. Automotive welder competition and forklift worker competition were held at SGMW and Yuchai respectively. Yuchai is advantaged in forklift worker competition and had made full preparations as the undertaker. Contestants like Zheng Tianshu performed well in the competition and clinched the top nine places eventually. Automotive welder competition is Yuchai's traditional weak spot and an event that Yuchai had temporarily decided to participate in. In the competition, Liang Hua overcame difficulties, withstood pressure, stayed calm and won the fourth place with exquisite skills, the best result Yuchai had ever achieved in this event. 　

Mo Hanzhong from Engine Plant 2 finished third in forklift worker competition, who delivered an impressive speech with the honorary certificate in hands, saying the skills of Yuchai's contestants have been boosted through all-round and systematic training leading up to the contest. The 17 contestants have demonstrated their best skills and spirit.

The contest is a review of skills of enterprise workers in Guangxi's automobile industry, giving full rein to workers' skill level, said Yin, hoping the contestants will, after returning to respective enterprises, carefully summarize experience, learn from each other, intensify learning, play a radioactive role, share experience with fellow workers and build high-caliber worker teams. 　

Li delivered a speech, saying an enterprise must have a high-skill worker team in order to accomplish sustainable development. In recent years, Yuchai has attached great importance to and promoted skill cultivation, and actively organized and carried out training activities. The atmosphere of skill learning has been rich, and mentoring activities have been carried out vigorously. Participating in the contest is another review and practice of the skill level of Yuchai's workers. The ultimate purpose of the contest is to cultivate a large number of technical masters and models by carrying out job training and skill competition through diverse channels and in diverse forms, to build high-caliber, expert, capable and creative labor groups and lay a solid foundation for the sound and fast development of the enterprise. The contest has created a favorable platform for technical exchanges between enterprise workers in Guangxi's machinery building industry, expanded space for enterprise talent training and injected more vitality into enterprise growth.
