2011 HNU, GXU master programs launched in Yuchai

On July 7, the launch ceremony of the master programs of Hunan University (HNU) and Guangxi University (GXU) in 2011 was held in Yuchai. HNU and GXU concluded with Yuchai the agreement on vehicle engineering master program and the agreement on mechanical engineering master program in 2011 respectively. Upon rigorous selection, 86 workers of Yuchai will take up advanced studies at public expenses.

Besides, HNU and GXU invited senior experts of Yuchai as their corporate tutors for project researches to better serve enterprises. Liu Jinshui, vice president of HNU and Chen Baoshan, vice president of GXU, presented the letters of appointment of corporate tutors to Yuchai's staff such as Feng Jing, Lin Tiejian, Wang Hongjian and Pang Jiacai.

At the launch ceremony, Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, thanked HNU and GXU for having cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for Yuchai, expressing the talent demand of Yuchai's twelfth five-year strategy and Yuchai's expectation of the students. On-the-job continuing education has cultivated a lot of talents for us, and such education should be normalized and included in Yuchai's strategic plan to cultivate a large number of talents to support Yuchai's objective of annual sales of RMB 100 billion, said Yan, hoping that the students will study hard and master skills, and that Yuchai's senior executives at all levels will attach great importance to talents and use talents from a strategic perspective.

Liu and Chen delivered speeches, singing the praises of Yuchai's outstanding contribution to the development of the national industry as an autonomous national brand, and expressing the confidence in cooperating with Yuchai. At Yuchai, Liu visited Yuchai's engine showroom, workshop and laboratory, and had talks with Yuchai's middle and senior executives such as Wu Qiwei, Zhang Jiasha, Wang Wei and Guan Min. On the basis of in-depth communication, the two sides reached a consensus on cementing school-enterprise cooperation.

School-enterprise cooperation is a mode of talent cultivation of Yuchai. Since 1996, Yuchai has concluded cooperative agreements with famous domestic institutions of higher learning such as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and sent 220 workers for master and doctor programs. To better promote the implementation of the "twelfth five-year" strategic objective, Yuchai has intensified talent cultivation. Yuchai plans to, as of this year, hold one or two publicly-financed education programs every year to make workers grow with the company. Yuchai's cooperation with HNU and GXU will cultivate more high-caliber application-oriented and versatile technical and management professionals for Yuchai.

At the news that the master programs of HNU and GXU in 2011 would be launched in Yuchai, Yuchai's workers applied for the programs actively. This May, Yuchai organized exams for 156 applicants. As a result, 50 workers including Kou Chuanfu passed the exam for the vehicle engineering master program of HNU, and 36 workers including Xue Fuquan passed the exam for the mechanical engineering master program of GXU. Their tuitions and travel expenses incurred will be borne by Yuchai.
