Three Types of Heavy High-Speed Marine Electric Engines of Yuchai Grandly Released

On the morning of March 30, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. released new products of heavy high-speed marine electric engines which integrate the advanced technology of four famous combustion engine research institutes in the world and have the proprietary intellectual property rights, i.e. 12VC, 12VT and 8C in the headquarters of the Power Mansion Square.

Liu Zheng, director of Register of Fishing Vessel of the Ministry of Agricultural of the People's Republic of China and Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. unveiled 12VC engines; Li Tiansheng, secretary of the Party committee of Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd. and Liu Shiyin, general manager of Yingtai Group Co., Ltd. unveiled 8C engines and Shen Jie, chief engineer of Yuchai Group Co. Ltd. and Hao Lubin, general manager of Lianyungang Jirui Yuchai Marine Electric Power Mating Co., Ltd. unveiled 12VT engines. The releasing ceremony was hosted by Lin Zhiqiang, chief engineer of Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd.

As introduced by Lin Zhiqiang, since "the 11th Five-Year Plan" period, the Yuchai marine electric engines business has developed quickly and the annual production and sales volume increased from 2,500 in 2005 to 21,200 in 2011, becoming an important production enterprise in the marine electric field. During this period, Yuchai has made substantial investment in R & D, especially in R & D in heavy engines, and has filled the gap in heavy high-speed marine electric engines. 

The released 12VC, 12VT and 8C engines have integrated numerous international advanced technologies, featuring energy conservation, and high efficiency, being reliable and durable, light and environmental friendly and compact appearance, etc. Among them, 12VT is the 12-cylinder engine with the 6T-based V-type arrangement. With the output volume of 32.7L and power range between 680-880kW, it is the ideal motor for above-18-meter vessels used for officials, yachts and 600-800kW land engines; 8C is the straight 8-cylinder engine developed based on 6C engines which are put into operation by batch this year. With the output volume of 52.8L and power range between 800-1,100kW, it is used for 5,000 to 7,000-ton transport ships, 40-60-meter dory trawlers, light fishing vessels, 800-1,000kW land power units and 600-800kW commercial auxiliary engines. 12 VC is a 12-cylinder engine which is also developed based on 6C platform and adopts V-type design. With the output volume of 79.13L and power range between 1,320-1,650kW, it is the ideal power used for 7,000-8,000-ton transport ships, passenger ships, engineering ships and 1,200-1,500kW land power units.

On the releasing conference of marine electric new products of Yuchai 12VC, 12VT and 8C, Liu Zheng, director of Register of Fishing Vessel of the Ministry of Agricultural of the People's Republic of China, on behalf of Register of Fishing Vessel of the State, congratulated on R & D and release of marine electric new products of Yuchai and expressed his lofty respect and cordial greetings to all Yuchai builders who are devoted to revitalizing the national industry and pursuing the international advanced level of combustion engines.   

Liu Zheng said that China is a fishing-boat country and has almost one quarter of total shipping boats in the world and almost 95% of the oceanic ships in China are fishing boats. The construction of modern fishery industry lies in the modernization of equipments of fishing boats and the development core of modernization of equipments of fishing boats is the power of boats. Recently, Yuchai has actively expanded the research, development and technical promotion of marine electric products, providing high-quality engine power for equipments of fishing boats in China and making a contribution to the development of the fishery industry in China. In the past three years, the diesel engines of Yuchai has achieved the multiplication and truly realized the great-leap-forward development. At the same time, it also indicates that the marine electric undertaking of Yuchai has a wide development space and potential. Today, the three kinds of marine electric new products is the pride of Yuchai staffs as well as an event in the development history in Chinese marine power, which plays an important role in promoting the development of Chinese marine industry. Register of Fishing Vessel of the People's Republic of China will support, care and help the development of such leading enterprises as Yuchai and the like as always and make more contribution to the development of the marine industry in China.
