Yuchai's July foundry rejection rate hits new high

The foundry of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) achieved a record comprehensive rejection rate of 1.46 percent in July, down 14 percent month on month and down 30 percent year on year, creating a record of less than 1.5 percent. The foundry's rejection rate has remained ahead in the industry.

At the beginning of 2012, YM adjusted the foundry's business body, adding forces of quality and technical control and intensifying management innovation. While persisting in traditional processes, the body made bold innovation, advanced lean manufacturing, carried out skill contests like "casting quality improvement" and "accurate pouring", thus raising manufacturing level, constantly enhancing workers' business quality, sense of quality responsibility and skill level, and providing strong guarantee for improving casting quality.

According to sources, the average rejection rate of the foundry was some 1.7 percent in the first eight months, fulfilling the target of not more than 1.8 percent in terms of the comprehensive foundry rejection rate of mature models.
