Yuchai supports "NPC & CPPCC" vehicle service

Just before the dawn of February 26, Zhang Liyuan, a service manager at Yuchai Beijing Office, was woken up by the alarm clock. Looking at the "ice flower" on the window, he rubbed his bleary eyes and got up. With the NPC and CPPCC around the corner, he, in charge of vehicle service during the conferences, felt as if the air were permeated with tension.

After getting everything arranged promptly, Zhang went out. Today, he will communicate joint support with Shouqi Group in charge of transporting deputies. During the NPC and CPPCC, the number of Yuchai-powered vehicles accounts for 85 percent of the total number of Shouqi's vehicles for transport. A tough service battle is about to open.

Meanwhile, the service engineers at Yuchai's headquarters were being trained intensely. After a few days, they will make up a team and head for the service frontline to support the annual NPC and CPPC. As the conferences will last longer than their previous editions, on the basis of the original service stations and service staff, Yuchai has sent seven seasoned service engineers more to Beijing to ensure the perfection of NPC and CPPCC service.

Despite years of experience in serving national conferences and games, Yuchai dare not slack off on this year's NPC and CPPCC. This year, the new leading group of the Party Central Committee centered by General Secretary Xi Jinping advocates pragmatism and practices economy. The convention of motorcade escort in previous years will be canceled during the conferences, and the road sections central leaders pass by during their visits will not be cordoned off or closed. These people-oriented policies show the new leading group's fine style of "making a solid start and doing everything pragmatically", but undoubtedly make vehicle service support more difficult and challenging to Yuchai.

In early February, Yuchai released the support plan for the "NPC and CPPCC" in 2013, establishing a leading group headed by Zhang Ting, deputy general manager of Yuchai Sales Co., Ltd., a technical support group headed by An Liqiang, director of the Electronic Control Department of Yuchai R & D Center and a service support group headed by Liu Ming, director of Yuchai Beijing Office. The three groups performed respective duties and allocated resources to coordinate preparations for NPC and CPPCC support. At the technical coordination meeting for NPC and CPPCC support with Shouqi Group in 2013, the two sides jointly established the central idea of "elaborate organization, strict requirement, safety and quality, zero risk".

In early 2013, haze hit a couple of cities including Beijing. "Beijing cough" has even become a network term. Yuchai has been committed to vehicle emission solutions for many years. During the NPC and CPPCC, Yuchai's energy-conserving and emission-reducing products like hybrid engine and gas engine will show up, posing a challenge to technologies, equipment and parts in service. As the enterprise that commercialized NG engines earliest in China, Yuchai has put into operation over 150 gas engines on the Tiananmen Square and its neighboring bus lines. For the transport comfort and safety of deputies and citizens, Yuchai established a special support group to maintain and inspect these gas engines in batches before the opening of the conferences by working in coordination with Beijing's public transport companies and visiting to serve. For the faults spotted through inspections, Yuchai required the inspectors to fill these faults in inspection forms, organized troubleshooting and tracked repaired vehicles for five operation periods till all parameters became normal.

Prior to the NPC and CPPCC, Yuchai has also inspected and maintained every Yuchai-powered vehicle in Beijing to ensure it meets the conferences at its best. For emergencies arising during the conferences, all coordinating groups have worked out emergency plans to ensure smooth support during the conferences by preparing parts earlier and following up deputies' travel routes in full course.

"NPC and CPPCC" support is a mutually-beneficial joint operation of all collaborating entities, as well as a direct reflection of fulfilling Yuchai's culture of Harmony Win-win. Full preparations will lay a solid foundation for the perfect performance of Yuchai engines during the conferences.
