CYSE narrates Party history, sings revolutionary songs, walks in Beichuan

As one of the worst-hit areas in the devastated May 12 earthquake, Beichuan showed utmost fortitude and made great achievements in the three-year reconstruction as a major and vivid part of Sichuan walking from sorrow to boldness and working a miracle of China. To feel the power of China and carry forward the spirit of quake relief, on June 18, CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd. (CYSE) carried out a great event themed by "narrating the Party history, singing revolutionary songs and visiting Beichuan", organizing over 90 advanced Party members of the year and key Party members to visit Beichuan.

CYSE was established on this March 7 with a joint investment from Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. and CSR Corporation Limited. This is the first automotive development project introduced by Sichuan following the May 12 earthquake. With a total investment of RMB 3 billion, the project has been included in Sichuan's "twelfth five-year" strategic plan for the development of the automotive industry chain. According to the project schedule, the only medium and high-speed engine manufacturing base in western China applicable to fields such as automobile, locomotive, ship and onshore power generation will be established in Ziyang, Sichuan, which will manufacture 200,000 high-speed automotive engines and 800 large-power medium-speed engines a year at full capacity, with an annual output value of over RMB 10 billion. Based on the requirements of the provincial committee and government, CYSE is committed to building a domestic first-class and internationally competitive engine manufacturing base in western China. The project followed the passionate post-quake reconstruction. In 2011 when the enterprise was founded, it can achieve sales revenues of over RMB 1 billion as a good start for corporate growth and development in the "twelfth five-year" period as well as a generous gift to the Party's 90th anniversary.

To commemorate the Party's 90th anniversary and arouse entrepreneurial passion, CYSE valued the event as a major one of the corporate Party committee in celebration of the Party's 90th anniversary. On the way to Beichuan, the event opened with the Internationale, which 90 Party members on board the three buses sang passionately and sonorously in chorus; the company's five Party committee members and six Party branch secretaries took the three Benz buses as mobile classrooms to give a vivid lesson on the Party's brilliant history; all groups had a revolutionary song contest and Party history knowledge contest, pushing the event to the climax. After arriving in Beichuan, all staff mourned quake victims before the monument of the May 12 earthquake and offered flowers. They witnessed the huge changes in the new and old county seats of Beichuan.

A participant in the event said, "The world-shaking May 12 earthquake in Sichuan is unforgettable. Facing the once-in-a-century catastrophic disaster, the people of the nation stayed in solidarity, made concerted efforts and blended love, blessings and passion together to help Beichuan's people pluck up courage, thus winning a complete victory in quake relief and making remarkable achievements in post-quake reconstruction. The visit has, once again, made us feel the greatness of the Communist Party of China and the power of China and made us see the hope of China!"

According to Zhang Zhengqing, chairman and Party secretary of CYSE, this year is the founding year of the company, the opening year of the "twelfth five-year" period as well as the 90th anniversary of the Party's founding. The corporate Party committee aims to take the event for a baptism of humanity and an improvement in Party spirit, making staff feel great changes and miracles in post-quake reconstruction, feel the greatness and power of the Party and government and feel the great love and affection epitomized by "concerted efforts against the disaster". The visit is aimed at bringing back Party members' sense of pride and sense of responsibility, bringing back the life attitude of gratitude and optimism, and bringing back the spirit of "staying in solidarity, making concerted efforts, forging against all odds and never yielding despite all setbacks", blending them into work and CYSE's cause of development, creating a bright future for the enterprise, and endeavoring to accomplish the mission of "equipping China and powering the world".

The visit also attracted great attention from some domestic media outlets. Outlets such as China National Radio (CNR), China Radio International (CRI) and Sichuan Daily sent journalists for full coverage of the event. In particular, Zheng Yi, a famous journalist with CNR and CRI, personally headed to the areas hit by the May 12 earthquake in 2008, and successively won honors such as "capital outstanding newswoman in quake relief" and "advanced individual in quake relief" from Sichuan Association of Journalists. By June 20, Internet media companies such as people.com.cn, cnr.cn, workercn.cn, huanqiu.com, 163.com and hexun.com had covered the event comprehensively.
