IMCAS's experts visit Yuchai

Recently, a delegation of three members from the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS), including Prof. He Xiuli and Dr. Chu Qingchen visited Yuchai for a technical exchange. Liang Qingyan, deputy general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM); Yang Weipei and Li Zhangli, deputy manager of the Manufacturing Technology Department of YM; Deng Zongyu, senior foundry expert, as well as relevant designers, inspectors and process operators attended the meeting. 　

First, Dr. Chu reported and summarized the finding of "Research on Numerical Simulation Calculation of Residual Stress on Cylinder Cover", an early cooperative project between Yuchai and IMCAS. The two sides discussed in depth applications of the research finding and technical problems of the process of simulation calculation. The project made a bold attempt at cylinder cover annealing and simulation calculation of residual stress during the bench test, drew preliminary conclusions conductive to process improvement, and is yet to be analyzed, tested and validated.  

Subsequently, Prof. He introduced IMCAS's latest research findings and experimental equipment, including advanced manufacturing technologies such as laser thermal load test system for cylinder cover and piston, laser cladding, laser welding and laser strengthening. Following the introduction, the two sides exchanged ideas on Yuchai's design and R & D, process design and problems in actual production, and determined the cooperation intent for the next period.
